The Changing of the Guards is subject to changes in date, time and cancellation at the discretion of British authorities. Cancellation due to bad weather or other circumstances is not announced before the morning of the ceremony. When this occurs, you will be provided with a walking tour of Westminster city instead
Please note that the changing of the guard schedule may change and on different dates you will see either Foot Guards or Horse Guards
There is no Changing of the Foot Guards on Tuesday, Thursday, or Saturday, so you'll be provided with a walking tour of Westminster City. You may be able to see the Changing of the Horse Guards at Horse Guards Parade, but that's not guaranteed
The Changing of the Guard is an age-old tradition at Buckingham Palace, where the Queen’s Guard hands over duty to the next shift with music and ceremony. Watch the iconic red tunics and bearskin hats in action, accompanied by expert commentary from your English-speaking guide. A must-see London experience! Plus, new for 2025: step inside the majestic Ballroom of Buckingham Palace to explore The King’s Tour Artists—a debut exhibition featuring over 70 masterpieces from the Royal Collection, personally selected by His Majesty The King. Book this walking tour through Over The Planet now!
