The vast temple grounds of Sanzen-in Temple are filled with towering old trees, moss-covered grounds, gurgling streams, cherry blossoms in April, azaleas in May, hydrangeas in July, and red leaves in autumn. The natural scenery is pleasing to the eye all year round.

- Sagano Bamboo Forest Trail Sagano Bamboo Forest is located in Arashiyama. The bamboo forest trail is about 500 meters long. You can walk through Nonomiya Shrine to Okochi Sanso to reach Arashiyama Bamboo Forest. Walking through the bamboo forest, you can hear the sound of the wind blowing through the bamboo leaves. This sound has also been rated as one of the 100 most worthy sounds in Japan. This is also where Ang Lee filmed "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon". The Tenryuji Temple in the trail has a very wonderful Japanese garden scenery. Every December during the Arashiyama Lantern Festival, the bamboo forest and Togetsukyo Bridge will be illuminated by lights, which is a different scene in winter.
