Toledo - the first capital of Castile, declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986 for its extensive monumental and cultural heritage. Its labyrinthine streets take you back to the time of the Knights Templar; its shop windows with their sabers, swords and knives make you live these feats; not to mention the local sweets, cheeses or hams.
