HAMILTON narrates the life of Alexander Hamilton, one of America's Founding Fathers, who hailed from the West Indies and became George Washington's indispensable aide during the Revolutionary War. Additionally, he served as the nation's inaugural Treasury Secretary. This remarkable musical combines various musical genres, such as hip-hop, jazz, blues, rap, R&B, and Broadway, to retell America's past from the perspective of the present.
Created by Lin-Manuel Miranda, HAMILTON encompasses the elements of a book, music, and lyrics, with direction by Thomas Kail, choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler, and musical supervision and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire. The inspiration for this extraordinary production is Ron Chernow's biography of Alexander Hamilton.
HAMILTON has received numerous accolades, including 11 Tony Awards, with recognition for Best Musical, the prestigious 2016 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, and the 2016 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album
