At Jemaa El-Fna Square, I will share with you its fascinating history and its central role in the life of Marrakech. This vibrant place, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is where tradition and modernity come together. We will explore the spice merchants, street performers, musicians, and snake charmers who bring the square to life. You will also find restaurants, fresh juice stands, and colorful stalls. Jemaa El-Fna is the beating heart of Marrakech, a place where the living history of the city unfolds before your eyes.
At the Koutoubia Mosque, we will explore Marrakech’s iconic 12th-century minaret, one of the city's greatest symbols. This majestic monument, with its Andalusian architectural details, dominates the Marrakech skyline. I will share with you its fascinating history, its role as a landmark for travelers, and its influence on the region’s architecture. As we approach, you will also discover the beautiful surrounding gardens, offering stunning views of the minaret and a peaceful atmosphere right in the heart of the medina. The Koutoubia stands as a living witness to the history and grandeur of Marrakech.
Bab AgnaouPass-by Only
We will pass through Bab Agnaou, one of Marrakech’s most iconic monumental gates. Built in the 12th century under the Almohad dynasty, it served as the main entrance to the royal district, home to El Badi Palace and the Saadian Tombs. You will admire its impressive architecture, with finely decorated stone arches and engraved floral motifs. Bab Agnaou stands as a testament to the city’s historic grandeur and offers a beautiful glimpse into the artistic refinement of that era.
