The lava tunnels in Reunion are becoming an essential activity on the island. There are very few places in the world where it is possible to have such an experience. During this underground exploration you will discover a universe worthy of Jules Vernes. The Piton de la Fournaise offers us this opportunity. The instructors who will supervise you will be happy to explain to you how these famous lava tunnels form and will share with you their passion for volcanology through this "volcanic speleology".

Once equipped with a helmet, an individual headlamp, knee pads and gloves, you will walk for 15 minutes on the lava ropes to reach the entrance of the tunnel. After the first explanations given by your guide, the time that your sight is done in the dark, you will discover a unique universe. Ceilings from which melting dark chocolate seems to flow (stalactites), benches of lava, forests of stalagmites, a "dodo", a "shark" ... And much more if you let your imagination run wild.
