Granada is one of the oldest and most emblematic colonial cities in Latin America, founded in 1524 on the shores of Nicaragua’s Great Lake. On this tour travelers will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in its history, architecture and cultural life. We will visit the imposing Cathedral of Granada, with its distinctive red dome and neoclassical facade, located in front of the central park. From there we will walk along cobblestone streets, surrounded by colorful houses and historic buildings, until we reach La Calzada, one of the most vibrant avenues in the city, full of restaurants, art and live music. We will also explore other colonial churches such as La Merced or Xalteva, according to the pace of the group, as we learn about the historical events that marked the city, from colonial times to resistance against pirate invasions. From the historic Port of Granada you will start a walk along the majestic Lake Nicaragua, the largest lake in Central America.
