Itinerary

You will meet your guide at Parque de Los Hippies before moving on to try some arepas, a corn flatbread filled with cheese that will give you a sweet start for your gastronomic journey. After, you will taste empanadas, a savory pastry that contains a delicious meat filling that goes great with ají (a typical hot sauce). This stop for empanadas is at a traditional restaurant that has been open for more than a century and according to many, they serve the best empanadas in town.empanadas in town. Heading north you will arrive at Nuestra Señora de Lourdes, an impressive neo-gothic cathedral in the heart of Chapinero. A shortstop can be made here to enter if the cathedral is open and if it suits your interest. Next, you will walk a few steps to taste Pan de Bono and Avena, a typical snack from Valle del Cauca region. You will continue some streets ahead to drink a delicious cup of coffee prepared by a barista with your method of preference. This coffee is served at Wilborada, a bookstore built inside a traditional Chapinero house that holds impressive books about Colombia and literature in many languages. To give this tour a sweet end you will stop to try a typical Colombian dessert such as Fresas con Crema, Arroz con Leche or Oblea. If you're in a group, try them all!

Iglesia Nuestra Senora de Lourdes

Heading north you will arrive at Nuestra Señora de Lourdes, an impressive neo-gothic cathedral in the heart of Chapinero. A shortstop can be made here to enter if the cathedral is open and if it suits your interest. Next, you will walk a few steps to taste Pan de Bono and Avena, a typical snack from Valle del Cauca region.

You will continue some streets ahead to drink a delicious cup of coffee prepared by a barista with your method of preference. This coffee is served at Café Cultor, a responsible coffee shop that serves fair trade, organic coffee from various regions of Colombia. Here you will understand why Colombian Coffee is so famous and distinctive in its flavor, and how a preparation method can make a huge difference in highlighting coffee qualities.
