At the archaeological site of Aptera, you will be able to admire findings of all periods of inhabitation of this City-State. The walls of the ancient city, which is 3.480 meters long, dating back to its acne period, of the 4th century BC.
The theatre belongs to the Roman phase. Ruins of a villa with peristyle yard, of the early years of Roman rule built on the standards of the Hellenistic period. Unexpectedly high Roman cisterns and parts of public and private baths.
Buildings of the Byzantine Period. The view from there is absolutely breathtaking!

Archaeological Site Of Aptera
Our first stop after an interesting drive up will be the ‘’Ancient site of Aptera’’ and ‘’fortress of Koules’’. Explore the Roman cisterns, the monastery, the picturesque church and the absolutely beautiful ancient theatre that still remains. Afterward, our group has time to take magnificent photos of the view to Souda Bay from the fortress of Koules. Time spending there is about 1h30m.
Winery Dourakis
Wine and Cheese Winery Dourakis. Do you know that cheese is the best friend of the wine? Come and taste this wonderful combination in a tasting of 5 different wines perfectly matched with fine fresh and matured local cheeses. We will continue the drive into the White Mountains until we reach a Wine factory in Apokoronas. Our guide and the owner of the wine factory will guide our guests in their wineyards and explain to them how Cretan wine is produced. At the end of the walk, all our guests will have time for wine tasting accompanied by Cretan appetizers (our typical cheese ‘’graviera’’, olives, kalitsounia e.t.c). The wine tasting and appetizers are per person 26€ and are not included in our price. Time there is about 2h for a walk, wine tasting, and appetizers.
