During this route, you will experience probably the most opulent Ottoman place and gain deep understanding of its history. Moreover, you will visit little-known (by tourists) gem, the Naval Museum. To add the diversity of this route, we will see some great paintings of Ottoman and European masters. After finishing historical aspects, we will observe and take part in the contemporary life of Istanbul's citizens, either by tasting or drinking as they are doing or by enjoying the fast-paced life of the city nearby the Bosphorus.

This 1853-dated mosque, designed by a famous Ottoman Armenian architect, displays several aspects of westernisation in Ottoman world. Its external appearance as well as its sober and palatial interior design will be topics to discuss in our first sightseeing point.
Definitely majestic, the major 19th-century palace of the Ottoman dynasty, contains suprisingly well-protected interiors, which can easily rival the Palace of Versailles. Due to its vast size, we will visit the "State Rooms" section of the palace. This is the most opulent section and terminates with a breathtaking hall, that has no equal elsewhere in the world in 19th century. Entry to the less opulent "Harem/Family Rooms" depends on the consensus of the group.
Located in the former Palace of Crown Prince, National Palaces Painting Museum contains over 550 paintings once decorated the walls of Ottoman palaces. Housing masters such as Ayvazovski, Zonaro, Seker Ahmed Pasha, Halife Abdulmecid Efendi; these paintings are among the best of 19th century Ottoman art.
