It is the 1921 ‘Tomb of the Unknown Soldier’ (India Gate ) wherein names of 13,300 Indian army servicemen who died in during the First World War are carved on the walls. It is also the place where an eternal flame burns in soldier’s remembrance.
It is an impressive 330 acres architecture of 1929, constructed by Sir Edwin Lutyens and Herbert Baker who are in fact responsible for constructing almost whole of the New Delhi. This beauty has its own interesting history and is considered the second largest in the world after Quirinal Palace in Italy.
