Mantua
It is one of the most beautiful cities in Lombardy, rich in art and culture. Located in the Bassa Padana, Mantua stands on the bank of the Mincio river, at the point where its waters form a deep loop, which embraces the city and creates Lake Superiore, Lake Mezzo and Lake Inferiore.
Palazzo Ducale di Mantova
Among the first things to see there is Palazzo Ducale and its 500 frescoed rooms decorated by artists such as Giulio Romano, Raffaello and Mantegna. With the numerous buildings connected by corridors and galleries, courtyards and gardens, this beautiful place resembles a real city-palace that covers about 35 thousand square meters.
Duomo - Cattedrale di San Pietro
Among the religious places to visit, the Duomo (or Cathedral of San Pietro), with the Romanesque bell tower, the Gothic right side and the neoclassical facade is unmissable.
