Visit the Wachau Valley from Vienna, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its excellent wine, medieval castles, and breathtaking landscapes. Travel to Krems, a charming village on the Danube River, and enjoy a short walk through the city center. Pass Dürnstein to see the ruins of the castle where King Richard the Lionheart was held captive. Continue to Spitz, where you will board a boat and cruise along the Danube (summer only), taking in the picturesque riverside villages and rolling hills. Finally, reach Melk to visit the renowned Benedictine Abbey, awarded 'Best Historic Destination of the World' in 2008. Walk through the marble hall, grand library, and church adorned with unique frescoes. The tour concludes with a return to Vienna State Opera.
