Phnom Penh Spice Cooking Class offers a culinary experience focused on traditional Cambodian cuisine. The class provides a hands-on for participant to learn how to prepare authentic Khmer dishes using fresh, local ingredients. During the class, the instructor guides participants step by step in making a variety of classic Cambodian dishes. Participants are welcomed to join a presentation on the rich history and culture of Cambodian food after food preparation. The presentation covers the importance of rice, fish, and various herbs and spices that define Khmer cooking, alongside the influences from neighber, allowing guests to understand the origins of the dishes they will prepare. By the end of the session, participants enjoy the meal they’ve created, appreciating the complex yet delicate flavors of their handmade dishes. The class perfect for food lovers who want to delve deeper into Cambodia’s food heritage.
- 5:00 PM participant meet up at Phnom Penh Spices, Refreshing with coconut water and enjoy seasonal fruit, learn about Cambodian spices - 5:15 PM start to cutting spices and pounding it to the past - 5:30 pm seasoning the spice paste mixing with vegetable and meat - 6:45 pm put it in steaming - 7:00 pm making BBQ in Cambodian style - 7:15 pm making dessert - 7:30 pm Slide presentation about Cambodian food (General) - 8:00 PM dinner time (Water, soft drink, one or two beer include)
We are going to prepare Cambodian BBQ that use a spices (Non vegetarian use beef or chicken and vegetarian use Tofu with mushroom)
Amok is a Cambodian traditional food, it is similar to curry, it cook in coconut. the participant can choose vegetarian, vegan, chicken or fish.
Chek Chheng, is the Khmer word use for refer to Banana cooking with coconut milk and palm sugar, it provide tasty creamy and sweet.
