Congress Avenue Bridge Bat Watching

You will see the world's largest urban bat colony that peaks at around 2 million bats during the peak of the season. The bats take off around sunset and always head towards the eastern part of downtown.

Austin

You will see a number of buildings on the Austin Skyline including the Hotel Van Zandt, The Austonian Tower, and a multitude of residential and commercial buildings.

  • We will meet directly under the I35 overpass off East Ave out of a parking lot/docking area by the water and launch from there. If you’re having trouble locating us, just look up Lone Star Kayak Tours on Google Maps. We're to the left with the blue and orange kayaks when you come down to the water!

Specific departure location will be given upon confirmation. Tour is a total of two hours, launch depends on when the sun sets and ending at approximately between 7pm and 9pm daily. Be sure to arrive to departure point 15 minutes before scheduled departure. • Confirmation will be received at time of booking. • Operates in most weather conditions, please dress appropriately • Recommend you wear swimsuit, windbreaker jacket, or lightly layered synthetic clothing • Bring sunglasses, hat, sunscreen, waterproof camera, and bottle water. • Not wheelchair accessible Customers will receive a full refund with 24 hours notice of cancellation. Customers will also receive a full refund in case of operator cancellation due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances. Contact us by phone to cancel or inquire about a cancellation. No-shows will be charged the full price. Feel free to contact us if you don't get a confirmation time. We will meet under an overpass/I-35 and launch from there. There is plenty of parking in the area! If you have any trouble with the location please put Chicano Park in to get as close as possible. When you come to the water we'll be on the left hand side of the shoreline.
