Fort San Lorenzo
A former colonial military fort, San-Lorenzo is located on a promontory at the mouth of the Chagres River on the Caribbean coast of Panama. In 1671, the fleet of the privateer Henry Morgan attacked it on the way to plunder Panama City.
Colon
Since the Spanish first landed in the Isthmus of Panama in 1501, Panama has been a natural transit route for goods and people trying to cross from coast to coast. First called Aspinwall, in 1890 it became the city known today - Colon.
Panama Canal Railway
At a cost of $ 6,564,552.95, after 5 years of construction, on Sunday January 28, 1855, a train crossed the Atlantic Ocean for the first time via the Isthmus of Panama to reach the Pacific Ocean. This route is done all along the Panama Canal by the country's only railway. Choose the tour in the morning or in the evening, to travel the 80 km that separate the Atlantic Ocean (Caribbean Sea (Colon)) and the Pacific Ocean (Panama), approaching the mythical train of the Panama Railway Company.
