We will visit the Machado de Castro National Museum, which is located where the ancient Roman city of Aeminium was located. Nowadays it is possible to visit the largest protoportic in the Iberian Peninsula, which preserves vestiges of the imposing city of the Roman times, which is nowadays under the ground of Coimbra.
We will make a short stop where we will visit the ruins of an ancient Roman tower, which was actually the base of an aqueduct that supplied the Roman city of Conímbriga, all its population and especially the spa complex that existed in the city.
Our last stop takes us to one of the largest and best preserved Roman cities in Portugal, the city of Conímbriga. Here, we will address the history of the buildings and try to understand how Roman society worked, its constructions and way of life. In addition to discovering the preserved places of the city, we will also visit the museum that preserves objects discovered in the city, which show us more about the Quatidian from about 2000 years ago.
