This tour will be an immersion in the communal farms of the indigenous Mayan Tz'utujiles where we will learn about local ecological coffee techniques and the entire process step by step from planting, grain and cup. We will also walk through the streets of the colorful town of San Juan and among the coffee plots so we will get to know the history of coffee and its connection with indigenous communities.
Pickup included
Our guide will pick you up near your hotel and then you will take a public boat and while you enjoy the trip he will explain the introduction of the geological history of Lake Atitlán.
Our guide will share the history of the colorful town of San Juan La Laguna and then lead you through the coffee plots in San Juan La Laguna to get to know it more closely and learn about the step-by-step processes on the plots and after the farms. Then we will visit a local cafe to learn more about the roasting processes and at the end we will enjoy a cup of coffee to your liking.
We will visit the Catholic church of San Juan La Laguna to take photographs and get to know it more closely.
You can choose to be picked up from a list of locations, or alternatively, have the choice to make your own way to the meeting points
Please arrive at the pick up point 10 minutes before departure time.
The starting points are: San Pedro La Laguna, San Juan La Laguna, San Marcos La Laguna and Tz'ununa. If you are in other municipalities such as San Juan La Laguna or San Maros La Laguna, we can pick you up at the meeting point or at the center of each town as well as we could also pick you and your companion up if there is vehicle access at your hotel.
