Cairo Citadel
The Cairo Citadel is a massive medieval fortress built in the 12th century by Sultan Salah al-Din. It served as a military stronghold and royal residence for centuries. The Citadel offers stunning views of Cairo and houses several important historic buildings. Its most famous landmark is the beautiful Mosque of Muhammad Ali, known for its impressive Ottoman architecture.

We’ll visit the Religions Complex in Old Cairo, a unique area where different faiths meet. There, we’ll see the famous Hanging Church, one of the oldest Coptic churches in Egypt. We’ll also explore St. George’s Church and Abu Serga Church, where the Holy Family stayed for three months during their journey in Egypt. Inside Abu Serga, you can view the cave believed to have sheltered Jesus as a child. The tour also includes the historic Ben Ezra Synagogue, the oldest Jewish temple in Cairo.
