Here you will begin your day by being picked up by the buggy operator and taken to their new headquarters and be briefed to go over safety instructions. You can even have a free cup of coffee at their base camp.
You will set your journey through lava fields and venture to Hellisheidi Geothermal power plant. The power plant provides electricity and hot water to the whole capital of Iceland Reykjavik. You will see the skiing mountains of Reykjavik called Blue Mountains. We will ascend to Hengill Mountain range and see a fantastic view through all the steams coming from all around the Geothermal power plant.

A BUGGY TOUR WITH STUNNING MOUNTAIN VIEWS You start driving your buggy on a lonely trail in the backlands of Reykjavik. Following the trail, you will reach Hengill mountain range and Hellisheiðarvirkjun, the power plant for Reykjavik. Your guide will lead you to an area that looks like the moon. The first stop will be at the geothermal area next to the geothermal power plant. The area was a film location for the movie “The secret life of Walter Mitty”. After your stop, you head back closer to Reykjavik. You are taking a gravel road into the stunning Blue Mountains. The next stop is Vífilsfell mountain, named after a slave of Ingólfur Arnarson, the first permanent settler in Iceland.

Pick-up starts 30 minutes before the departure time. Be ready at 13:00, The pick-up process can take up to 30 minutes. Please note that pick-ups from hotels in main-central Reykjavik are not allowed in certain areas designated as no pick-up zones by the City . As a result, you need to walk to the nearest bus stop, typically a 2-5 minute walk from your hotel. To choose the appropriate bus stop: Search bus stops in Reykjavik Search the closest to your hotel & select the one nearest. All hotels in downtown Reykjavik are at a no pick up zone by the city. Therefore you will need to walk to the nearest bus stop. It should be 2-5 minute walk from your hotel. To choose what bus stop. You will need to go to www.busstop.is and type in your hotel address and choose which bus stop you want to be picked from. Please select one and let us know You need to be ready at 09:00 or 13:00 - depending on what departure you book. The pick-up can take up to 30 min.
