Travel throughout Romania in a small group tour of a maximum of 8 travelers. Discover the best of Romania on a 10-day tour with departure from Bucharest. We will head towards the western side of Romania where we will visit Cluj-Napoca, the Turda Salt Mine, and the Alba Carolina Fortress, and then make our way into the time-forgotten land of Bukovina. Here, we will visit the UNESCO Painted Monasteries, and get to know more about the customs and traditions of this region.
We will then head back into Transylvania to discover some of its most prominent landmarks, such as the UNESCO Villages with Fortified Churches, the Sighisoara Citadel, and Bran Castle, as well as the city of Brasov. Our tour will continue with a tour of the former residence of the Romanian royal family, Peles Castle, and then we will return to Bucharest for a city tour of Romania’s capital.

Day 1 | Bucharest – Curtea de Arges – Transfagarasan Road* – Sibiu
Your tour starts with a road trip from Bucharest to Curtea de Arges, the historical capital of Wallachia where we will visit the Curtea de Arges Monastery. We will then drive on the Transfagarasan Road in order to reach Sibiu, where we will take a walking tour before checking in at the hotel.
Day 2 | Sibiu – Hunedoara – Alba Iulia – Turda – Cluj
We will make our first stop at the Corvin Castle, and then we will head to Alba Iulia where we will visit the Alba Carolina Fortress. From Alba Iulia, we will visit the Turda Salt Mine, and then we will go to Cluj-Napoca. After a short walking tour, you will have free time to explore the local cafes and restaurants near the hotel.
Day 3 | Cluj-Napoca – Bistrita – Voronet
On our way to Bukovina, we will stop in Bistrita, where we will take a short sightseeing tour and taste some local products. We will then head to Bukovina, where we will visit the Voronet Monastery.
Day 4 | Voronet – Moldovita – Sucevita – Iasi
On the fourth day, we will continue our tour of the Painted Monasteries with Moldovita and Sucevita and then leave for Iasi. In Iasi, we will take a short walking tour before checking in.
Day 5 | Iasi – Targu Neamt – Piatra Neamt
On the 5th day, we will take a tour of Iasi and visit the Palace of Culture, the Metropolitan Cathedral, and the Vasile Alecsandri National Theatre. We will then head to Targu Neamt for a tour of the Neamt Citadel and we will reach Piatra Neamt.
Day 6 | Piatra Neamt – Bicaz – Corund – Biertan – Sighisoara
We will pass through the beautiful Bicaz Gorges in order to reach our first landmark of the day, the Red Lake. Our next stop will be in Corund, one of the main pottery centers of Transylvania, after which we will visit Biertan.
Day 7 | Sighisoara – Viscri – Brasov
In the first part of the day, we will visit a true symbol of medieval life, the Clock Tower, which is home to Sighisoara’s History Museum. We will then visit the Viscri Village, and head to Brasov for a short walking tour.
Day 8 | Brasov – Bran – Sinaia – Bucharest
Our day starts with a city tour of Brasov's main touristic hotspots, and then we will take a 30-minute drive to Bran, where we will visit Dracula's Castle. Our next stop is in Sinaia, where we will visit the former summer residence of the Romanian Royal Family, Peles Castle.
Day 9 | Bucharest City Tour
On the last day, you will discover Bucharest through a full-day city tour. The tour includes the Palace of the Parliament, the Bucharest Village Museum, and a walking tour through Bucharest's Old Town.
Day 10 | Breakfast and departure.
