Lama Temple (Yonghegong)
The Lama Temple, originally the residence of Emperor Yongzheng before his ascension, is a Tibetan Buddhist temple that takes you on a journey through time. Admire the gilded memorial archways and the Hall of Heavenly Kings, gaze up at the 26-meter sandalwood Maitreya Buddha in the Wanfu Pavilion, and marvel at the 18-meter gilded bronze statue of Tsongkhapa and the rosewood Arhat Mountain in the Falun Hall.
