This experience combines a visit to the city’s main market — where we’ll source all the ingredients — with a fully hands-on vegetarian cooking class. You’ll learn traditional techniques, hear the stories behind the dishes, and cook a seasonal menu from scratch. More than just a class, it’s a chance to live Basque culture through its food.
We’ll start the day with a guided visit to San Sebastián’s most iconic food market, where we’ll shop for all the fresh, seasonal ingredients we’ll later use in the class. You’ll discover local products, meet some of our trusted vendors, and learn how to choose the best of what’s in season. After the market visit, we’ll walk back to our cooking school. There, you’ll tie on an apron and join our chef to prepare a full vegetarian menu inspired by traditional Basque recipes. The class is fully hands-on — you’ll chop, stir, taste, and plate every dish yourself. At the end, we’ll sit down together to enjoy the meal you’ve created, paired with local wine or cider. It’s an authentic, fun, and delicious way to experience Basque culture from the inside.
