The Grand Palace
Pass-by Only

In 1782 the new King decided to move the capital city to the left bank of the Chao Phraya River for strategic purposes and used the canals to the west as defenses for the new city. A palace was constructed whose grounds currently covers an area of 218,000 square metres that are enclosed by crenallated walls measuring 19,000 metres. Similar to palaces in the former capitals of Sukhothai and Ayudhaya this palace is also laid out with Halls of Residence and Throne Halls as well as administrative buildings and a temple that serves as the Chapel Royal.

Temple Of Dawn (Wat Arun)
Pass-by Only

at Arun, also known as the Temple of Dawn, is a Buddhist temple located in Bangkok, Thailand. It sits on the western bank of the Chao Phraya River and is famous for its stunning and distinctive architectural design. The temple's prang, a tower built in Khmer architectural style, is more than 80 meters high and is the highest in Thailand.

Royal Barges National Museum
Pass-by Only

The National Museum of Royal Barges is a museum in Bangkok, Thailand. It is on the northern rim of Bangkok Noi canal in the Bangkok Noi District. Royal barges from the Royal Barge Procession are kept at the museum. The museum was formerly a dry dock for barges and warships under the care of the Bureau of the Royal Household and the Royal Thai Navy. The dock and barges sustained severe bombing damage during World War II, but in 1949 they were restored by the Fine Arts Department as part of the Thai cultural heritage. Repairs were completed and the dock became the National Museum of Royal Barges in 1972.
