The tour will guide you through the Alcatraz prison. Once the audio tour is over, you can continue taking pictures and exploring the island or you can walk back down to the ferry landing and hop on the next ferry headed back to san Francisco the Alcatraz tour typically takes 2-3 hours to enjoy. Alcatraz Island Ferry times we purchase tickets at 12:30 pm and these times are subject to availability and subject change. Pier “Alcatraz Landing” resides within the “Fisherman’s Wharf” area of SF.
