90-minute Elephant Watching Experience in Hoedspruit
Elephant Moments is a respectful and memorable early morning experience where visitors have the chance to learn invaluable insights about elephants and get the opportunity to meet a few of these gentle giants and understand them and their immense importance as a keystone species to our ecosystem.
The Jabulani Herd has inspired many people around the world with their stories of rescue and survival, due to the human-elephant conflict that continues to threaten elephants as a species.
They are a unique, tight-knit herd that has not only accepted one another as orphans, but continue to welcome orphaned calves that need another family to accept them unconditionally, something rarely seen in wild herds. Hoedspruit Elephant Rehabilitation and Development (HERD) provides a safe place for the herd to thrive in a semi-wild environment. Side by side, the Jabulani Herd browse, swim and play happily in the beautiful bush of the Kapama Reserve.

What's included in 90-minute Elephant Watching Experience in Hoedspruit
(Subject to Option Inclusions)Be inspired, enlightened and educated by this memorable and respectful opportunity to meet and learn more about some of the Jabulani herd elephants and their passionate carers. The 90-minute experience takes place at the Jabulani herd stables. The Jabulani Herd elephants that you will meet represent the rest of the herd which they join a little later to continue foraging during their days in the Kapama Private Reserve. There will be between two to three elephant bulls introduced who remain behind a low partition creating a respectful distance between the elephants and the visitors. Complimentary coffee and tea with biscuits will be provided upon arrival and available to enjoy until the end of the experience. Following your Elephant Moments experience, you will have the opportunity to purchase a souvenir in our gift shop, with proceeds going towards the HERD Trust.

- Arrive by 06:00am at the Kapama Private Reserve Main Gate on the R40 between Klaserie & Hoedspruit. Follow the Elephant Moments road signs to the elephant experience. Please note - you must be in a vehicle we do not provide the transfer from Main gate to the Elephant Moments Experience
