Our standard guided day builds on our beginners package and is tailor-made depending on conditions, angler preferences and location. The Tumut River is home to brown and rainbow trout in diverse environments that can be targeted with multiple methods all trout season long.
If you happen to be a dry-fly enthusiast, there’s usually a trout or two (or ten) looking up. If you’d prefer to get deep and work on your nymphing skills, you can try to break some rainbow trout records. Into hunting trophy brown trout with articulated streamers? Then we are your people. After lunch, shift to tactical bank fishing. Explore specific, challenging spots along the riverbank where you can put your skills to the test. Your guide will share strategies for precise fly placement and effective techniques. Return to the drift boat for an afternoon of mastering the river. This session is an opportunity to apply your knowledge, work on specialized techniques, and fine-tune your approach as you drift along the water. Conclude your day of advanced fly fishing by returning to Tom's Outdoors.
