We have over 50 years combined experience working and living at the Great mesoamerican reef here in Mahahual Costa Maya. We offer expertise on environmental conditions, as well as flora and fauna in the area, and our tours are always provided in English and in Spanish.
Our tour includes semi-professional snorkeling equipment (all cleaned and sanitized before and after every use) including fins, certified life vests, and a certified guide who will also take underwater photos of your experience as a courtesy.
We offer snacks to enjoy right on the boat! We provide water, sodas, beer, fresh fruit and even a delicious guacamole.
Our beach is next to “Hotel 40 Cañones”, where you are free to lounge on the beach, use our kayaks and paddle boards.

(Subject to Option Inclusions)**Mininum 2 guests per group** Join La Leyenda ECO-TOURS for an unforgettable snorkeling experience while visiting Mahahual in the Costa Maya. We begin the experience at our booth right on the beach in front of Hotel 40 Cañones. We’ll enjoy a boat ride on one of our 25ft pangas to representative areas on the Great Mesoamerican reef. Our snorkeling spots are chosen to give you a wide view of the local flora and fauna, as well as for the best possibilities for encounters based on weather and water conditions. We will visit 2 to 3 different snorkeling spots on the Great Mesoamerican reef, the second largest coral reef system in the world. These areas are populated with many Caribbean fish and coral species (French and Gray angelfish, Damselfish, Bluehead and Yellowhead wrasse, Stoplight parrotfish, Grunts, Puffers and more). If we’re lucky, we may even see a spotted eagle ray or green sea turtles. We are strictly committed to sustainable fishing practices and low-impact tourism experiences on the great Mesoamerican reef system here in Mahahual, Quintana Roo. After your trip you can relax on the beach and enjoy our paddleboards/kayaks. Our area is right alongside Hotel 40 Cañones.
