Begin with an early morning pickup at your Singapore hotel. 2 of our trained staff (1 English-speaking guide and 1 separate driver) will meet you at the hotel driveway to check your documents before escorting you through immigration via the drive-through border (no standing-in-line). After clearing immigration, arrive at the regional airport to have breakfast first at a table-service cafe, before boarding your flight to Malaysia's capital - Kuala Lumpur.
Upon arrival in Kuala Lumpur, your English-speaking guide will escort to a waiting air-conditioned minivan to begin your tour of Kuala Lumpur. Your first stop in Kuala Lumpur will be Batu Caves. The limestone forming Batu Caves is said to be around 400 million years old. Batu Caves was founded by K. Thamboosamy Pillai, an Indian trader in 1891, as a Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Murugan. A 42.7-metre high gold-painted statue of Lord Murugan was unveiled in January 2006, having taken 3 years to construct. It is the tallest Lord Murugan statue in the world.
Located near the massive Lord Murugan statue is the Sri Ganesar Temple, dedicated to Lord Ganesha, the Hindu deity of wisdom and remover of obstacles. In the temple, you can see many altars of worship which house the murti of the deities. Sometimes you can also see devotees performing the pooja, consisting of mantra chanting dedicated to Lord Ganesha asking that any obstacles be removed during their worship. Pooja is considered a technique for fostering their spiritual growth by facilitating action (karma), devotion (bhakti), knowledge (jnana), and focus (raja), all of which are offered with humble and loving surrender to the deities. You can also see metal lamps with clarified butter (ghee) which symbolise the victory of knowledge over ignorance.
