See some of Croatia’s most rugged and beautiful terrain on this adventurous, 1-day hiking and scrambling trip. Depart in the early morning by car from Zagreb and make your way to Croatia’s mountainous Gorski Kotar region, often called “the Green Lungs of Croatia” because of its thick forests. Your destination is the Vihoraski Put, one of the country’s most challenging and scenic hiking trails. See the famous White Rocks and the Samarske Rocks, and return by evening back to Zagreb, where the tour ends. This is a long lasting day, feeling as two!

Embark on this small-group, 1-day hiking and scrambling tour of some of Croatia’s most beautiful terrain. You’ll be picked up directly from your Zagreb accommodation at 6:00 AM and driven into the protected Gorski Kotar region, famous for its thick forests and rugged mountains. We pass through Ogulin town, cute little town from fairy tale, and proceed deeper to mountains. After leaving behind last village we move on the dusty road and approximately between 9:00 and 10:00 we start the hike. First part (1 hour) we hike to the peak of White rocks, enjoy the spectacular views of its distinctive rock formations before continuing onward to the 5-hour Vihoraski Trail, renowned as one of the most challenging hiking trails in the country. Head deeper into the wilderness, where you’ll have the chance to take a break in the Green Valley and trek through other nearby valleys. Afterwards, you’re in for a bit of technical climbing along the challenging Ljuska section of the trail. Be rewarded with beautiful views before arriving to the Ratkovo shelter (optional, depending on time and strength). Late afternoon return to your vehicle, where you’ll be driven back to your Zagreb accommodation.
