Basilica de Nossa Senhora do Rosario de Fatima
The Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fatima is one of the most famous Marian sanctuaries in the world. About four million people visit Fatima each year, attracted by the apparitions of the Virgin Mary by three child shepherds in 1917.
Batalha Monastery
The Dominican Monastery of the Battle was built to commemorate the Portuguese victory over the Castillans at the Battle of Aljubarrota in 1385.
Monastery of Alcobaca
It is the first fully Gothic work erected on Portuguese soil, having been started its construction in 1178 by the monks of the Order of Cister.
