The Zhoukoudian Site Museum, where the world famous Peking Man, and other ancient apemen lived is located some 50km to the southwest of Beijing. A ten minutes’ walk from the site park, the site museum stands on a hill. Walk in, and see a tall 'Peking Man' statue with a long scroll painting that vividly depicts the ancient apeman's life. Choose between two packages and visit either the sites or the museum. The museum exhibits three floors worth of over 1,600 pieces of relics and fossils. See the Peking Man in the flesh and other animal bones. Learn about the origins of the apemen and their transition from ape to human. Check out the 4D movie theater, try out the interactive zone and more! On the other hand, you can look into the sites where these fossils were actually discovered and see how and where the cave men lived, where they first discovered fire, and created other tools - the first signs of ape to man transition that, when discovered, shocked the entire world. If you want to visit both the Site and the Museum, remember to make two separate bookings to get the most out of your day at Zhoukoudian Site Museum.
