Chef Chan started his culinary journey in Ipoh, Malaysia, where he found his passion for cooking while preparing meals for his family on their farm in Ipoh, Malaysia. From these humble beginnings, his fervor for cooking grew, and he developed a philosophy: great food should be within everyone's reach.
Moving to Singapore at 15, Chef Chan trained under a Hong Kong chef and refined his now-famous soya sauce chicken recipe. He eventually brought this dish to the public when he opened Liao Fan Soya Sauce Chicken Rice & Noodle in 2009 in the Chinatown Complex Food Centre.
