The Egyptian Museum in Cairo
The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities in Cairo, often referred to as the Egyptian Museum, boasts a vast collection of ancient Egyptian artifacts, totaling approximately 120,000 items, though only a fraction is on public display. Salah El-Din Citadel, commonly referred to as the Citadel of Cairo, is an ancient fortress located on Muqattam Hill, commanding a view over the city. Constructed in the 12th century by Salah El-Din (Saladin) to defend Cairo from Crusader forces, the citadel is celebrated for its beautiful Islamic architectural features, most notably the grand Mosque of Muhammad Ali. It has acted as the administrative center for several rulers throughout its history and provides breathtaking views of the Cairo skyline.
