Itinerary

Fatima

Fátima is a city in central Portugal that is home to the Sanctuary of Fátima, a Catholic pilgrimage site. The Chapel of Apparitions marks the place where the Virgin Mary allegedly appeared in 1917.

Museu do Santuario de Fatima

Founded in 1955, the Fátima Sanctuary Museum's mission is to study and make known the history and memory of the Apparitions of Fátima and the Sanctuary of Cova da Iria. It does so through the preservation and exhibition of different material testimonies that date back to the time of the Apparitions and multiple objects that were kept throughout different periods in the history of Fátima. In its permanent exhibition, the visitor is invited to take a journey of affection, because the pieces on display are, fundamentally, ex-votos: objects offered to Our Lady of Fátima, either by anonymous pilgrims or by world-renowned pilgrims, such as the case of the popes.
