The El Yeso Reservoir and the Termas de Colina are tourist destinations in the Andes Mountains. The reservoir is a water reserve, while the thermal baths are a complex of thermal water wells.
The Gypsum Reservoir
It is located in the commune of San José de Maipo, in the Metropolitan Region of Santiago. Trekking, mountaineering, recreational fishing, windsurfing, photography, among other activities are available. It is recommended to use sunblock and windbreak to protect yourself from the sun and wind.
Hill Thermal
Also known as the Hill Valley Baths, they are a popular tourist attraction of the Maipo Cajon. They consist of nine thermal water wells with temperatures between 25oC and 55oC. Waters have medicinal properties and are said to help with rheumatic ailments, skin diseases and stress. The waters come from the San Jose Volcano and are highly mineralized.

Before arriving at El Yeso Reservoir, we make a short stop at a viewpoint that offers a spectacular view of the San José de Maipo volcano, responsible for the hot springs we have enjoyed. From this panoramic point, visitors can admire the imposing silhouette of the volcano, surrounded by a landscape of mountains and valleys that extend as far as the eye can see. This moment is perfect for capturing photos and appreciating the strength of nature. Then we head to the El Yeso Reservoir, a stunning lake of turquoise waters that reflects the Andean sky.
