Alexandria, the city of Alexander, has a rich history that spans over a thousand years. Once the largest city in the world, , it is home to the most extensive library and the most famous lighthouse globally, the Pharos. And with this tour, you can experience this city's rich history firsthand. Starting early at 7 am, you'll drive for about three hours to reach Alexandria, where you'll begin by visiting the Catacombs of Kom el-Shokaffa, dating back to the 1st century A.D. From there, you'll explore the ruins of Pompey's Pillar and the Serapis temple, followed by the Fort of Qaitbay, built over the site of the iconic Pharos to defend Egypt against Ottoman invasion. You'll then have lunch at a good quality seafood restaurant overlooking the Mediterranean before heading to the Roman Amphitheater and the Library of Alexandria.
