Zamek Bolkow

After the 1 hour drive from Wroclaw the first stop is the majestic mountain stronghold, Bolkow Castle. Built in the XIII century it preserves the medieval atmosphere of the first polish dynasty, the Piasts. You will see massive walls and a fortified tower while enjoying a spectacular view over the landscape and listen to some thrilling legends and stories.

Krzeszow Abbey

TThe next stop is the krzeszow abbey - so called the Silesian pearl of Baroque. You will be amazed by the wealth of the Cistercians, visiting two breathtaking churches. Sant Joseph church displays unique frescoes of the famous Silesian painter Michael Willmann and therefore it’s called the Silesian Sistine Chapel. The main basilica of the Assumption of the Holy Virgin, with its rich baroque interiors, is an unforgettable and appealing experience for every art lover. After the visit have some free time and a lunch break to try local dishes.

Chelmsko Slaskie

On the way back you will see the enchanting town of Chelmsko, which still preserves 12 original wooden houses of the flax weavers. Observing the original workshops, which used handheld tools and wooden looms, it will make you understand that the Cistercians were not only sophisticated art lovers, but very successful entrepreneurs that contributed to great economic growth.
