Visit the Jewish Historical Museum, which is part of the Jewish Cultural Quarter in Amsterdam. Ths tour includes skip-the-line tickets so you will not have to queue to purchase tickets on the spot. The Jewish Historical Museum is the ultimate place to learn about the local Jewish community, their religious customs and traditions, relationship with Israel, as well as persecution during the Second World War. This extended tour includes entry to the Portuguese Synagogue, which is the largest and the oldest one in Amsterdam. The synagogue is an active place of worship so you will find many authentic Jewish ritual objects in there. You will also take a walk around the area and see the National Holocaust Names Monument, the Monument to Jewish Resistance, and the Spinoza Monument. Other highlights include the Rembrandt House and Gassan Diamonds, a former diamond-polishing factory where many local Jews worked as diamond cutters and polishers.

Please note that the number of attractions depends on the option selected. Private transfers and a walking tour of the Jewish Quarter (with entry to the Portuguese Synagogue) are not included in the basic 2-hour option. Skip-the-line tickets allow you to enter faster without purchasing tickets on the spot, but you may have to wait in line for ticket validation and mandatory security checks. Tickets include admission to the permanent collection, excluding temporary exhibitions. The Portuguese Synagogue is an active place of worship and so it has limited sightseeing hours. The synagogue is closed on Saturdays. At such times, you will see it only from the outside. In Amsterdam, the rule is that a licensed guide can show a group of 1-15 people. If there are 16-30 people in your group, you will have to pay for the service of 2 licensed guides. If there are 31-45 people in your group, you will have to pay for the service of 3 licensed guides. The 3 and 5-hour options include approximately 1-hour round-trip transfer time between the meeting point and the accommodation address provided when booking. Please note that the transfer time quoted is for information purposes only and can take longer or shorter depending on the location of your accommodation in Amsterdam. Groups larger than 8 people will be split into 2 (or more) vehicles during the transfers.
