Venture over private farmland and fault lines, passing by sheep, cows, and goats, before being treated to stunning views of the Cook Strait, Kaikoura Ranges, and South Island. Follow the ridgeline road, stopping to admire the breathtaking scenery along the way—photos really can’t capture the true beauty of this place.
Once we descend to sea level, we’ll encounter some beloved locals in their natural habitat: New Zealand fur seals. Exiting the vehicle, we’ll observe these charming creatures as they sunbathe, play, and swim. Staying at a safe distance for their safety and ours, your guide will share insights about the history, ecology, and conservation efforts that have allowed their numbers to flourish once again. We’ll also treat you to some morning or afternoon tea as you take photos and soak in the serene surroundings.
