Your guide who will be wearing a Secret Paradise t Shirt and holding a Secret Paradise logo board will meet with you at the designated meeting point, Hulhumale Lakundi Jetty. We travel 45 minutes by speedboat to a sandbank, ideal for picnics or for merely enjoying time sunbathing, snorkeling or swimming in the clear blue lagoon. Following a Responsible Snorkeling briefing we snorkel at the sandbank and will take in one further snorkel point upon leaving the sandbank. Both points are filled with marine life and coral. Sites are selected on the day dependent on weather and ocean conditions but you can be assured of encountering a colourful array of marine life. We finish the afternoon cruising the ocean in search of dolphins as the sun begins to set.
You will make your own way to the meeting points
For tours including snorkeling please ensure you have shared your shoe size in Euro in order that we can have correct fin sizes available for you. Things to bring: Refillable water bottle, beach towel, water resistant reef friendly sunscreen, insect repellent, camera, snacks, money for personal expenditure. We do provide snorkeling equipment on all our tours but please feel free to bring along your own mask and snorkel. Not only will you be assured your mask fits your face properly and is comfortable and less likely to have leakage, it will also lower any health associated risks. We find that peace of mind goes a long way. For all water based activities we would advise wherever possible for your belongings to be in a ‘dry bag’ and to bring only the minimum requirement. It is also advisable if you intend to take a taxi or bus following your tour to carry a set of dry clothing. What to wear: Swimwear for water based activities, we recommend the use of a rash guard or t-shirt whilst snorkeling, loose lightweight clothing, sunglasses, sun hat, comfortable footwear. PLEASE TRAVEL RESPONSIBLY The following are a few simple tips that require very little effort on your part but which will help ensure that any effect you have on the locations you visit is positive rather than negative. • Conserve energy: Be careful not to waste valuable resources. Use local resources sparingly. Switch off lights, air conditioning and fans when you leave the hotel room and don’t waste water. • The Maldives has far less efficient waste disposal systems than you will be used to. Remove packaging from newly acquired items before leaving home. • Choose environmentally friendly products: By using environmentally reef friendly (biodegradable) sun creams you can help reduce pollution. • Refuse plastic straws at cafes and plastic bags when shopping. • Do not touch or feed marine life and follow the Green Fin Snorkeling Principals.
