Saint Catherine
Saint Catherine (saente ktin; often spelt St. Katrine) is a city in Egypt's South Sinai Governorate. It lies 120 kilometres (75 miles) from Nuweiba, at the foot of Mount Sinai and Saint Catherine's Monastery, on the borders of the El Tor Mountains at a height of 1,586 metres (5,203 feet). It had a population of 4,603 people in 1994. Saint Catherine was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2002.
