In the summer of 79 AD.C. Pompeii was entirely covered by a sudden rain of ash and volcanic fallout (it was not lava, as is often said) that formed a layer of over 3 meters, which crystallized the city, preserving it for centuries. In the area of archaeological excavations the ancient city, buried by the eruption of Vesuvius, was entirely unearthed. The site of the ancient ruins of Pompeii is incredibly vast and exciting. After visiting the ruins of Pompeii, we will reach the Vesuvius National Park, at 1000 meters above sea level. We will take a walk to the top of the only active volcano in continental Europe.
