This white-domed marble mausoleum was built as a token of love and devotion by the Mughal emperor, Shah Jahan, in memory of his beloved third wife, Mumtaz Mahal.
08:00 AM Time for breakfast at Restaurant. 10:00 am Next, stop at Agra Fort, a magnificent treasure of Mughal architecture, built of red sandstone and white marble. Inside Agra Fort, view the remarkable palaces, decorative chambers and hospitable reception rooms. Be awed by the beauty of the fort’s marvelous mosques, including Pearl Mosque (Moti Masjid), Diwan-i-Khas, Diwan-i-Am and Sheesh Mahal.
This was the first Mughal structure built completely from marble, the first to make extensive use of pietra dura and the first tomb to be built on the banks of the Yamuna, which until then had been a sequence of beautiful pleasure gardens. You can either visit Itmad-Ud-Daulah Tomb or Agra Fort.
