Upon picking you up at your hotel, we head to Chiba Prefecture, where we ascend Mt. Nokogiri via cable car, named for its saw-like shape and historical mining of marble and stone used in constructing the expansive Buddhist complex, Nihon-ji. From the observatory atop the mountain, situated approximately 400 meters above sea level, you can enjoy panoramic views of Tokyo Bay. On clear days, you can discern the skyline of the metropolis and, occasionally, even catch a glimpse of Mount Fuji in the distance!
The "Jigoku-Nozoki" (Hell's Lookout) is a thrilling spot that gets your adrenaline pumping! While safety railings are in place, those with vertigo should proceed with caution!
The Great Buddha of Nihon-ji, though imposing, remains relatively obscure to many. This magnificent stone Buddha, carved from rock, stands serenely in a tranquil garden at the heart of the complex. After exploring Nihon-ji, we descend to sea level for lunch (cost not included). Your guide will present a variety of dining choices, from fresh local seafood and cozy cafes to unexpectedly delightful European dishes crafted with local ingredients!
