What's included in Private Chennai Market Tour and Cooking Class with a Fun Local

(Subject to Option Inclusions)

Begin your Chennai market tour and cooking class with a warm welcome from Sundari in her beautifully converted in-laws’ home, surrounded by lush fruit trees and adorned with traditional art and decor. A passionate cook since the age of eight, Sundari delights in sharing the rich culinary and cultural traditions of South India with her guests. Start with a tour of her home and an introduction to the dishes you’ll be preparing. Next, join Sundari in her kitchen for an engaging hands-on cooking session, where you’ll prepare 4-5 flavorful South Indian vegetarian dishes. After cooking, enjoy your creations the local way - eating with your hands on stainless steel plates or fresh banana leaves. Afterward, take a stroll to the nearby Sastri Nagar neighborhood supermarket, a more convenient and immersive alternative to the crowded open market. Here, Sundari will guide you through the vibrant array of South Indian spices, fresh produce, and condiments, offering insights into their uses and significance in local cuisine. She can also help you purchase any spices you want to take home. This immersive experience is perfect for anyone seeking authentic flavors and heartfelt hospitality.
