Queluz National Palace
This monumental palace and baroque convent dominates the small town of Mafra. It was built during the reign of King João V, Portugal's most extravagant monarch. This Palace is closed on Tuesdays
Palácio Nacional da Ajuda, built in the late 18th century to house the Portuguese royal family, is a historic building classified as a National Monument, which includes important decorative arts collections from the 18th and 19th centuries. It was the official residence of the Portuguese royal family for fifty years, becoming one of the main stages for meetings of the Council of State, grand banquets and official receptions. This Palace is closed on Wednesday.
