Lovcen is located in the south-west mountains of Crna Gora expanding as far as the coast of the Adriatic Sea. It was named a national park in 1952 consisting of two high points, Stirovnik (1.729m) and Jezerski point (1.657m), where Njegosev’s tomb is found.

Lake Skadar is the largest freshwater area in Southeast Europe, belonging to both Montenegro and Albania. It is located 30km away from Podgorica and 70 km away from Tivat. Skadar Lake is the largest cryptodepressioin in the Balkan region (its surface is above sea level, and the bottom is below sea level). The average depth of the lake ranges from 4-7 m. The flooded holes are the deepest point of the lake, measuring at 30 m, and can surpass 60-80m in depth. Filled with the beautiful nature and numerous historical monuments, the Montenegrin side of Lake Skadar was named a national park on November 27th 1983. The main attraction of this Lake is its symbol, the pear-shaped pelican that attracts numerous ornithologists every year.
