Learn about the soldier who ran 26 miles to inform his fellow citizens about their victory and collapsed to death upon completing his duty.
Marathon Tomb
A historic site located near the town of Marathon in Greece. It is believed to be the burial ground of the soldiers who fought in the famous Battle of Marathon in 490 BC. The tomb is an impressive sight, standing over 10 meters tall and made of marble.
