Gyeongbokgung Palace
Gyeongbokgung Palace, located in the heart of Seoul, South Korea, is one of the most iconic and historically significant palaces in the country. Built in 1395 during the Joseon Dynasty, it served as the main royal palace for centuries. The name "Gyeongbokgung" translates to "Palace Greatly Blessed by Heaven," reflecting its grandeur and importance. Visitors will change to Hanbok-Kprean traditional dress and can enjoy the changing of the royal guard ceremony, which offers a glimpse into Korea’s past traditions. The palace is also home to the National Palace Museum and the National Folk Museum, where artifacts and exhibits showcase Korea’s rich heritage. Despite its destruction during Japanese invasions and colonization, extensive restoration efforts have returned much of its former glory.
